Luminous fungi

Luminous fungi

South-east Queensland has been experiencing one of its wettest seasons in many years, so fungi in the rainforest has been thriving. I have been enjoying getting out into the rainforest again and doing quite a bit of macro photography of late. One of the best experiences was while in Lamington National Park at the end of February, photographing the stunning luminous fungi in the pitch-black forest, late at night. Exposures were quite long and I had to do a bit of trial-and-error with times, but end results were some bright, sharp and glowing fungi.

Michael’s Photography Workshops also presented their fourth successful 5 day “Mountain Experience” photography workshop towards the end of February. The weather was kind to us (mostly grey, overcast clouds – perfect for rainforest photography) and everything was so incredibly green and lush. Our participants all enjoyed the week and many are looking to coming back again soon.
